I presumed it was the serious hail storm we had in September (?). I have a camphor tree over the swimming pool which causes havoc every Sept and October shedding leaves and small twigs. This year the hail seemed to strip the tree in one go and after that storm there was no more shedding. Amazing how there is always a positive flip-side to nature's damage or bad weather patterns.
