Hi there, I'm coming to Joburg next week and will be taking the Rea Vaya to Ellis Park. However, I need to meet a couple of friends around Ellis Park to give them their tickets before we go into the stadium together. Does anyone know EXACTLY where the Rea Vaya stop will be for Ellis Park?

Thanks in advance for the help

Hey Farhana ... more info on Drop and Ride
Tour operators have been warned that visitors will not be allowed to be dropped off at Park and Ride facilities across Johannesburg throughout the period of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement released by the City of Johannesburg, authorities have punted the installation and development of several public transport options as the reason for this.
“The city’s comprehensive plan, which integrates Rea Vaya BRT, Gautrain, Metrorail, Metrobus, long-distance buses, taxis, Park and Rides, and Park and Walks is designed to offer all fans the opportunity to access public transport during the Soccer World Cup,” read the statement. Fans who want to be dropped off, must use the Westgate Transport Hub at the corner of Anderson Street and Pat Mbatha Bus and Taxi Way in the Johannesburg CBD (closest highway: M2, off-ramp Selby) from where they will be able to use either Rea Vaya BRT or Metrorail to get to the stadiums. Alternatively, fans can catch the Metrobus from Sandton to Westgate Transport Hub for R20 from where they can transfer to Metrorail or Rea Vaya BRT. Metrorail will be free for match ticket holders and Rea Vaya will cost R12 return. Fans can also be dropped off at any functioning Rea Vaya BRT station where they can buy a ticket to get to Soccer City or Ellis Park on match days. Fans are advised to allow four hours to travel to the various matches.

Hi Liz,

Thank you so much for the information, especially on the Drop & Ride! We don't plan on hiring a car so that will be really helpful.
